Young Voices Safety Summit 2025

Back in November, over 150 of us got together for the second annual Safety Summit, put on by the Young Voices Reading group. It wasn’t just another meeting—we had a massive mix of young people and professionals getting stuck into workshops, roundtable chats, and a proper Q&A to finish the day.

What was on the agenda?

We used the results from the recent Young Voices safety survey, reflecting the stuff that actually matters to local young people, including:

– Violence Against Women and Girls
– Exploitation
– Hate Crime, and Bullying
– Reporting crimes

Check out the highlights video below – it was edited by young people, and you can hear exactly what everyone thought of the day.

“See Me As Me”

The whole theme of the day was See Me As Me. It was all about young people sharing what life is actually like with the adults in the room. The goal? To get professionals to stop seeing “youth” as just one big group and start seeing them as individuals with their own stories.

Our Starting Point Creative Alternative Provision group were proud to have created the branding and look for the event, and we were also around all day taking photos and videos.

We couldn’t have done any of this without the funding and sponsorship from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Thames Valley and Archway Business Solutions.
