Our Team
Georgia-Mai McIntosh
Georgia joined Starting Point in September 2021 and is our Programme Manager. Georgia oversees our mentoring programmes, and is here to support our team. She has both worked and volunteered with young people over the past 5 years in holistic and educational settings, with an enthusiasm for creating equal opportunities for all. With a passion for working with young people from a diverse range of backgrounds, she believes in providing support to aid the ability for everyone to succeed. Outside of work Georgia enjoys live music, trips to the cinema, reading, and watching the women’s football.
Simon Ray
Simon joined Starting Point in April 2021.
A graphic designer with many years experience, Simon is the Starting Point Creative Programme Manager. Alongside producing any design work needs, he heads up Starting Point Studio – our creative work experience programme – including our alternate provision for schools. He brings energy and enthusiasm, and a desire to see young people grow in confidence, expression and technique. He is mad about fonts. He also loves graffiti/street-art, music, films and the colour yellow.
Emma East
Emma joined Starting Point in October 2022 and is our Community Mentor. She realised she had a passion for supporting and working with young people through her previous experience on a summer programme for teens back in 2018. She went on to study childhood and youth studies at university. Emma is energetic and always talking. She loves to talk to young people and get to know them and their interests and enjoys seeing them grow in confidence and supporting them to achieve their goals. Outside of work Emma enjoys going to West End Musicals and watching Disney films as she is a big Disney fan.
Hannah Wilde
Hannah became our A&E Navigator Coordinator for Starting Point in February 2023. She feels passionately about supporting young people in their moment of crisis by journeying alongside them. Over the last 6 years she has volunteered with people in need, connecting with them and helping them to change direction. Hannah believes that harder circumstances make for more beautiful transformations. Outside of work, she likes to express her creative side through painting and enjoys regular family trips to feed the ducks.
Tom Rogers
Tom joined Starting Point in October 2023 and is our second Community Mentor with a focus on engaging young people who come through the A&E Navigators work with Starting Point’s mentoring programme. Tom is also Youth Pastor at The Gate Church, Reading, and has been working and volunteering with young people since 2006; in 2020 Tom, together with his wife, became foster carers as well. Tom is passionate about helping young people succeed and seeing cycles of trauma broken. Outside of work Tom enjoys coffee (see www.sip-coffee.co.uk), playing the piano, reading, foraging, learning languages, exploring the UK, and studying counselling.
