Summer week 26 Scrapbook

End of July, 2026 saw us hold another creative activity week.

9 young people joined us over the course of the week, and got creative with photography, drawing, filming, collage and making a Zine

We had a great time, and are pleased to present a scrap-book of what we got up to. Enjoy 😃

INTRODUCTION TO FILM

As part of our introduction to filming, we looked at different types of shots used in films. From wide/long shots, through to extreme close-ups and POV shots too. Each group then had to create a short video featuring at least 5 of the shots.

Then later in the week each group made a short film about how hot it had been.

FOUND ALPHABET CHALLENGE

Each group had an hour or so to journey around Reading and find shapes that represent each letter in the Alphabet?

Could they find all 26 in time?

CHARACTER COLLAGE

We had an enjoyable afternoon using found imagery in magazines/newspapers that we then used to create characters.

Each person randomly chose an accessory and a theme for their character.

I loved everything!

HEATWAVE ZINE

The heat was a major feature for everyone this summer, so we used that as a starting point for a zine we created. Everyone got to design a spread based on their own reaction and feelings to the heat, or a message they wanted to communicate about it.

You can download the zine, and print your own out, by clicking here

[File is set up to be printed double sided, A4 landscape, 12 sheets of paper]
